I missed my stop on the midnight train home from the city, stranding me in a station I’d never been. Anxiety gave way to curiosity, though, and wandering the rainy night paid off in pictures. The American flag waves wildly in the winds of a dying storm and I snap a picture I find myself strangely attached to, if only for the obvious metaphor in the title.
