In 1971, Gunter Ledl began producing buggies based on VW Beetle cars, as well as replica cars of legendary brands, in a small garage and later at his plant in Tattendorf, Lower Austria. Having produced about 800 cars, Ledl began to think about producing his own sports car. So on November 22, 1978, the prototype of the Ledl Tanga sports car was presented. In September 1981, the machine went into mass production and was produced until 1987 under the name LEDL AS 130/160. The maximum speed of the 160 model was 196 kilometers per hour. A total of 249 cars were produced.
